To allow for greater flexibility and for you to take the choice that suits your goals best, the Admiral Markets Group offers the two most common and most advanced trading platforms: The MetaTrader 4 and the MetaTrader 5.

A user-friendly platform makes it easier to trade successfully

The “One click trading" option is intended to simplify trading and perform trade operations with a single mouse click. This option also allows you to close positions and remove pending orders by one click. The Depth of Market window displays a list of bids and asks for a particular instrument and also the volume of each order.

The MT4 is highly versatile and user-friendly, making it the ideal platform for beginners and experienced traders alike. The “Market Watch” window gives traders an overview over the current market prices for all available products. Admiral Markets' MT5 platform offers the great new features “One Click Trading” and Depth of Market.

MT5, offered by Admiral Markets, supports the Exchange Execution mode for order execution. In this mode, a trader can specify additional volume conditions at the desired price in the "Fill Policy". This means that a deal can be executed only if the specified volume was supplied at the desired price. Otherwise the order will be cancelled.

A major difference: In MT4 it is possible to hold and manage multiple and opposite positions of the same financial instrument. MT5 uses net exposure based trading principles instead of position-based trading and thus eliminates the process of managing two or more orders of the same instrument separately. Hence, buying and selling the same instrument will result in zero position in MT5, meaning it doesn't support hedging whereas MT4 allows for locking positions.

Another major change of the new MT5 is that the programming languages MQL4 and MQL5 are not mutually compatible. This means that all indicators, robots or Expert Advisors coded with the MQL4 of the MT4 platform will cease to work on MT5 and will need to be re-programmed/re-written using the MQL5 programming language. However, the new and advanced tools of MT5 provide an easier to use interface and raise the level of features without the need to download additional EAs.

Admiral Markets’ MT4 is available for Mac OS operating system users. The MetaTrader 4 trading terminal for Windows Mobile is available in two versions. One for PDAs running under Windows Pocket PC 2002 or higher with a resolution of a least 640x480 and the other for smartphones with the Windows Mobile 2003 operating system or higher. A special version of the MetaTrader 4 trading terminal for mobile devices is offered for iPhone and iPad. The MetaTrader 4 for Android OS is an app specifically made for all Android based devices and enables you to connect to any Admiral Markets account and trade on your Android device just like you would through MetaTrader 4.
